Product Story

Thonet No. 37 armchair, designed by Michael Thonet, Austria, circa 1880s.

Crafted in steam-bent beechwood with a cane seat and back, the chair features graceful, continuous curves and perfectly balanced proportions, hallmarks of Thonet’s early bentwood craftsmanship. Its warm, even patina shows light wear consistent with age, and the original Thonet label remains beneath the seat.

A refined and collectible example of late 19th-century industrial design.
